Our Story: A Legacy of Excellence

The story of Ludowici Tiles begins over 400 years ago with the Ludovisi family of Rome, Italy, who first began producing finely crafted clay roof tiles. In the late 1800s, Carl Ludowici, a descendant of the Ludovisi family, brought this time-honored craft to the United States. He opened a roof tile factory in Chicago, Illinois, and quickly gained recognition for the exceptional quality of his products. The popularity of Ludowici tiles led to the expansion of several factories, culminating in the consolidation of their operations into a single facility in New Lexington, Ohio — the Ludowici Roof Tile Plant.

Today, Ludowici tiles are still proudly made in New Lexington, Ohio, using locally sourced materials. With over 130 years of expertise, Ludowici has become a trusted name in architectural roofing, offering a broad selection of colors and textures. Their tiles blend old-world craftsmanship with modern technology, creating a roofing solution that reflects the beauty of the past while incorporating the best of today’s innovations.

Why Choose Ludowici Tiles?
